Encore Releases Latest Formula. Guaranteed for Life!
After nearly sixteen years of developing and selling wood coatings, and six years of selling a composite coating for wood, I can honestly say that the bar’s been raised again. For much of 2012, we tested three new possible formulation changes to the Encore wood coating (we’re always looking to improve and we are our own competition). We chose the best of the three and put it in a long-term accelerated weathering test against the existing Encore formula. For fun, we also included Encore competitors.
The accelerated tests focused on simultaneous rapid temperature changes (+/- 90 degrees F/cycle) and rapid hydration (wetting & drying). These two factors will destroy a deck coating long before UV is an issue – so it’s mission critical that the coating performs solidly in this area first. This approach is what has helped Encore become a market leader in the deck resurfacing channel and will continue to help us excel. The testing continues and the results are astounding. So far, the new formulation is outperforming the field by five times or greater. Who knows where and when we’ll see failure in the new Encore, but suffice it to say that this new formulation is the real answer to deck maintenance. As far as UV is concerned, it’s man-handled by the new resin blend.
The new Encore formula has been silently shipping to distributors and retailers since October and feedback has been strong and positive. Here’s some of what we’ve heard:

I would be remiss if I didn’t thank my son, Jeff Jr., for all that he did in helping to get this done. I’m one of the few fortunate fathers who get to see their son on a daily basis and for that, I’m blessed. We’re also working with a long list of expert suppliers who have opened up their resources to Encore and we’re thankful to them. Our outside sales team has built a dedicated team of distributors and retailers. Without this team, we would not be where we are. So to everyone, I offer my profound thanks and appreciation.
